Overrides for Researchers, the Medical School and the Health System

Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) should not be collected, processed, or stored in Google.

The U-M Health System, the medical school and some research groups may not use M+Google email and calendaring due to various laws and regulations governing how restricted data is handled. They do have access to most of the Google collaboration tools, including Docs and Sites.

Some of the collaborative apps, including Google+, require a Google Calendar account in order to use them. Individuals without an M+Google account can request an override by completing the Google Override Request Form. If approved, MSIS will contact Information and Technology Services (ITS) to have an M+Google account created.
