Several accessibility, editing, and ease of use improvements have been made to Google Sites. Improvements, including new keyboard shortcuts for editors that allow for several tasks without using a mouse and better viewing experiences for readers, will be available for the U-M domain later in June. For more information, see the official update from the Google Apps Team. (NOTE: These improvements appear to be to the Sites interface, not necessarily to the accessibility of actual Sites pages. U-M accessibility specialists have not yet tested or verified these changes.)
Google has also recently launched several features aimed at improving integration between Google Sites and other products. For instance, Google Sites will now showcase images in posts on social media. Sites can also now embed Google Maps Engine Lite, which makes it possible to share custom maps side-by-side with content. For more information, see the official update from the Google Apps team.
