Welcome to the June Monthly Google Digest! The monthly Google Digest is intended to inform users about what is happening with Google releases for both Core Apps (Google applications that fall under the Google Apps for Education agreement and do NOT require separate terms of service or privacy policy), as well as the Non-Core Apps (those that are not part of the Google Apps for Education agreement). We will continue to communicate important information on Core Apps through-out the month as well. Read on for more information about what Google did in June.

Core Apps: Mail, Calendar, Talk/Hangouts, Drive, Sites, and Contacts
Non-Core Apps: Additional applications that are not Core
  • Your Photos and Files, Together in Drive - Users can now access their Google photos in Google Drive through the Google Photos folder. Manage your photos and videos along with all of your other types of files.
  • Create and Manage Custom Maps in Google Drive -  Google My Maps is now integrated with Google Drive. My Maps allows users to create, share and publish custom maps online. My Maps includes the ability to create maps with custom lines, shapes, and placemarks to import geographical data.
NOTE: Keep in mind that even when non-core apps are found in a core app (like Google Drive), they are not covered by the Google Apps for Education agreement
