March Monthly Update

posted Apr 5, 2016, 10:05 AM by Eric Fruth

The monthly M+Google Update informs users about what is happening with Google releases for both Core Apps (Google applications that fall under the Google Apps for Education agreement and do NOT require separate terms of service or privacy policy), as well as the Non-Core Apps (those that are not part of the Google Apps for Education agreement). We will continue to communicate important information on Core Apps throughout the month as well. For a list of Core and Non-Core Apps, see the M+Google List of Services page.

Core Apps:

  • Updated versions of the Google Sheets and Slides apps for Android

  • Change to Mail Service in Apps Script

  • Connect with more people using Google Hangouts video calls

  • Better presentations and collaboration with the latest Google Slides and Docs apps for Android

  • Export Google Docs files as EPUB publications

  • Improved Trash support and folder colors in the Google Drive app for iOS

  • New templates in Google Docs: designed by experts, made for you

  • Reverse sort and instantly edit with your favorite apps in the new Drive app for Android

  • Rich text formatting and instant RSVPs now in the Gmail app for Android

  • Spruce up your spreadsheets and presentations with the latest versions of the Sheets and Slides apps for Android

Non-Core Apps:

  • Employees can view and access their apps from the new User Hub

NOTE: Keep in mind that even when non-core apps are found in a core app (like Google Drive), they are not covered by the Google Apps for Education agreement.
