Google is releasing new image features related to editing images in Google Docs, Slides, and Drawings. Users will soon be able to reset the properties and formatting of an image after edits have been made to it. Users will also be able to replace an image with a different one without changing the general size, layout, and properties applied to the original. This particular feature will be useful for replacing images in templates. We expect UMICH users to see these new features by the end of July.
For more information, see this post from Google Drive's G+ page and their support pages on how to Replace an image and Add borders and crop images in Google Docs & Slides.
