As part of our preparations for rolling out Google Apps for Education early next year, a umich.edu domain that was created several years ago via Google’s Team Edition apps service was transitioned to the new umich.edu domain on Monday Nov 14.

As a result of this transition, approximately 1,000 U-M Team Edition users were identified as having “conflicted accounts,” which required them to make some changes. (Refer to the resource list below and the attachment to learn more about conflicted accounts.) Google gave us a way to contact this group. However, due to their privacy policies they were unable disclose the names and email addresses of the conflicted account holders.

We sent the attached email to the holders of these conflicted accounts late Sunday Nov 13. We anticipate sending out further "conflicting account" communications as the provisioning process for the larger migration groups takes place in the spring of 2012.
