UPDATE: The M+Google team has received the following from Google about this issue:

  • After reviewing the information you provided, we believe that you may be affected by a known issue. This is a high priority issue that we're working to resolve as soon as possible. Description: Some enterprise customers may be logged out of their accounts to implement a bug fix.
  • Our Engineering team continues to investigate this issue. They have confirmed you will need to log in with your password or reset it in case you do not remember it, there are no other workarounds. Our Engineering team has also confirmed this issue should not re-occur after logging in.

**************************

Just after midnight on Saturday August 30, Google made a system change that is requiring users of .edu and .gov Google Apps accounts with Single Sign On (SSO) to re-authenticate. The M+Google team has opened a case with Google but due to the holiday weekend we do not anticipate a response until late Monday or Tuesday. The issue does not appear to be causing any other service-related disruptions, however we will continue to monitor the situation. If you are having trouble re-authenticating to your mobile device, you may need to reset your password to re-sync your UMICH and Google passwords. If you notice any other authentication-related issues or problems, please email the ITS Service Center at 4help@umich.edu.
